Häme Medieval Festival
The Häme Medieval Festival is a vibrant historical event held around Häme Castle in Hämeenlinna, Finland. It brings the medieval era to life through immersive experiences, lively performances, and an authentic atmosphere. Visitors can explore historical camps, witness knights in full armor engaging in battle reenactments, and enjoy medieval music, markets, and food. The festival features a wide range of activities for all ages, including blacksmithing demonstrations, traditional crafts, theatrical performances, and storytelling. The area is filled with merchants and artisans offering handmade goods and period-style products from Finland and across Europe. A special area is dedicated to children, with games, animals, and a magical forest. This was my fourth time attending the festival, and for the first time, I joined as a volunteer. I spent five days helping with the setup and construction, and I also took part in the visual decoration team for the app side of the event. It was a truly rewarding experience to be part of the team behind the scenes. I’m already planning to return next year — no question about it!
